Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Microneedling and Microchanneling?

Microchanneling uses a consistent stamping pattern, while microneedling uses a dragging motion that causes microtears in the skin. Microchanneling has superior results to microneedling as there are not microtears caused due to the way the treatment is performed, rather organized microabrasions resulting in a rapid recovery and optimal results.

What's in the serum used?

The serum used during our microchanneling procedure is derived from stem cells retreived from healthy, young athletes. As we age, we rapidly lose growth factors and effective stem cells (up to 50% loss by age 30 and 98% loss by age 50!). This serum provides high-quality growth factors and stem cells resulting in superior results to PRP and PRF treatments using your own blood.

What does the recovery look like?

There is very minimal downtime with microchanneling. Unlike microneedling which requires up to a 5-7 day recovery period, microchanneling recovery only takes approximately 90 minutes. You may have a red face, similar to that of a sunburn, for up to 2 hours. It is recommended to avoid exfoliants, makeup and direct sunlight for 24 hours.

Does this procedure requiring numbing?

Numbing is optional. The first treatment (0.25mm depth) is typically tolerated well without numbing cream, however numbing is recommended for any treatments with a depth greater than 0.25mm.

How many treatments will I need?

It is recommended to do a series of 3 treatments every 4-6 weeks (packages available for a 15% discount), then maintain your results with a quarterly treatment.  For hair loss, it is recommended to do 3-5 treatments 2 weeks apart.

What areas can be treated?

Nearly any area can be treated. Most commonly, the face, neck decollate and head (hair restoration) area are treated. Other areas that can be treated include the abdomen, upper arms, thighs, etc.
